My name is, as Solomon would say, …meaningless.  I chose to use an alias for two primary reasons.  First, “Troy P Hilis” is comprised of the rearranged letters for “Holy Spirit” in order to remind myself to live and to walk in the Holy Spirit.  This is not to claim that I feel that I am the Holy Spirit!  By no means!  But rather, just a reminder to myself to abide in the Holy Spirit as I walk through life’s journey.  Secondly, I chose to use a pseudonym, or pen name, to avoid getting caught up in a celebrity culture.  I find that I am weak and love praise.  I am easily distracted by things that are not important, and may gaze is often lured away from Kingdom matters.  Thus, the use of a pen name will help to free me from the temptation to seek glory for myself and to humbly lift up all the glory to Christ.

What is important is that I have been justified through faith and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.  My desire is to be a catalyst and an encourager to the saints for the benefit and glory of Christ.  We have a calling.  We are a “sent” people.  But we vacillate between two paradigms – this and what we are to be.  We are to be living as missionaries here in this world.  My prayer is that the Lord will transform your heart to be more like His, that He will awaken you from your slumber, and that He will use you beyond your capacity to imagine for His glory and Kingdom!
